International Sherry Week in Ireland

With only days to go until International Sherry Week (2nd-8th June) it’s time to get planning what events to attend. There are loads of events planned across Ireland, from Bantry to Cork, Galway and Dublin, and many shops will be running sherry promotions throughout the week. Check out www.isherryweek.com for details of an event near you.

I’ll be going along to one of the Dublin events – a ‘bring a bottle’ tasting being held next Wednesday night (4th June) in The Instituto Cervantes (see picture above for more details). Last year the amontillado army were out in force with an array of old and rare sherries; along with some delicious jamón from Black Pig, it made for a truly great tasting. So dig out a bottle of your favourite sherry and bring it along next week for what promises to be a fantastic sherry evening.
